I have been thinking a lot lately about personality. It's something we all have, and I would venture to guess that a majority of those traveling through life are completed disconnected from. I know I was for years. I think it's why I let so many bad habits and self doubts creep into my life. As an educator, I was always very mindful of my students strengths and building on them. It was often through cultivating their strengths and building self esteem that I was able to address their struggles. Unfortunately, I wasn't so mindful about this in my own life. At the beginning of 2016, our district sent out an email asking all the empolyees and students to take a personality test. A week later The Reset Girl suggested doing a personality test as well. The results made me really consider my strengths and made me question if I am spending enough time embracing and cultivating them. It also reminded me of my weaknesses; those items that fell at the bottom of the list. There is truth in acknowledging our struggles. For me it is the realization that I have weaknesses, and I don't have to spend my life trying to make them a strength. I am embracing my strengths, with the knowledge of my weaknesses, to enhance my life. The younger version of myself spent a lot of time chasing after a version of me that often lacked authenticity. Truly much energy was spent on trying to be something I just wasn't. So this week take a moment and check out the two personality tests below and begin embracing your strengths and acknowledging your weaknesses and using that powerful knowledge to connect to you and become the best version of yourself.
